DAWSON — Georgia Anne Milligan Arthur, 87, of Atlanta, formerly of Dawson and Americus, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2016 at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today, Dec. 2, 106, at the graveside in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Dawson. The Rev. David Unkles will officiate.

Georgia Anne, who was affectionately known as “GeGe”, was born in Graves, Georgia, on July 1, 1929. She enjoyed travelling, playing golf and tennis, and riding horses. She was an avid bridge player and gardener. Georgia Anne spent 30-plus years in education and was a past member of the Dawson United Methodist Church and the First United Methodist Church in Americus.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Jay Alexander Milligan and Mary Lena Newman Milligan; her husband of 23 years, Benjamin Charles Arthur; and her brother, Jay Alexander Milligan Jr. Survivors include son, Keith Alexander Arthur of Enid, Okla.; daughters, Leslie Rebecca Lovato (Ruben G. Lovato III) of St. Simons Island, Ga., Anne Elise Arthur of Tampa, Fla., and Jane Marilena Arthur of Tucker, Ga.; grandchildren, Alexander Benjamin Lovato of Mableton, Ga., Christopher Joseph Lovato of Americus, Ga., Lauren Rebecca Lovato of St. Simons Island, Ga., and Jack Benjamin Arthur of Enid, Okla.; and sister-in-law, Julia “Judy” Milligan of Greensboro, N.C.
