AMERICUS — Mary Nell Callaway Carson, 94, of Americus, died Dec. 9, 2016, at her home. A native of Helena, she was born May 14, 1922, to the late Bob Franklin Callaway and Clyde Millie Burch Callaway. She was preceded in death by her husband, George H. Carson Sr.

Visitation is scheduled for 2-3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, 2016, at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel. A graveside service will follow at 3 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Hugh DeLoach officiating.

Survivors include her two sons and daughters-in-law: Chip and Peggy Carson of Americus and Todd and Pam Carson of Americus; a brother, Bobby Callaway of Atlanta; and a sister, Marthaleen House of Americus. Also surviving are three grandchildren: Chuck Carson, Jessica Phillips, and Shelby Bailey; and three great-grandchildren: Callie Carson, Lyndi Carson, and Mason Phillips.
