Sorrow for loss
It with great sorrow that I write this note. Kay Gay, our friend at Brickyard Plantation RV Park and Golf Club passed away this week. Many of you knew her and she has been a wonderful friend as hostess of the Park for all of the years that we Snowbirds have traveled south. We will miss her and hope that you might say a prayer for her.

Bill of Rights Day
Each year on December 15th, Bill of Rights Day, we have the opportunity to remember those patriots who defined and defended the fundamental liberties that we so often take for granted. We cannot imagine a nation of free people without these constitutional clauses to protect our rights as individuals.
How many of us remember that it was George Mason who proposed a bill of rights similar to the one he had written for Virginia to be included in the Federal Constitution? When his proposal was rejected he refused to sign the final draft of the constitution. It became obvious a few years later that Mason was correct. His long fight to have them incorporated in the Federal Constitution was finally successful when the first ten amendments, known as the Bill of Rights, were ratified by the states on December 15, 1791.
The Americus Town Committee of the NSCDA in the state of Georgia celebrates this day by informing the public with a display at the Lake Blackshear Regional Library during the entire month of December.
Help celebrate December 15th by learning more about George Mason, the man who refused to sign something that he felt was not fair to the people — the man who is considered the “Father of the Bill of Rights.”
