ASHS, Schley announce GHSA All-Region team members

The Georgia High School Association recently released the All-Region football team rosters for the 2016 football season.
The Americus-Sumter High School (ASHS) Panthers and the Schley County Wildcats were represented well on their respective rosters.
ASHS wide receiver, Daveon Johnson, and offensive tackle, Malcolm Mercer, were named to the first-team 1-AAAA offense. Cornerback, Eric Brown, who was recently chosen as a “Power Player” by the Atlanta Falcons organization, was named to the first team 1-AAAA defense.
In a touching memorial, ASHS’ Jamorrian Johnson, who tragically drowned near the end of the season, was posthumously named to the first-team offense as well.
According to reports, several members of the Panthers received honorable mentions.
In Ellaville, tight end, Zykievious Walker, was named to the second-team All-Region offense alongside freshman, Archer Hathaway.
Clint Sellars received honorable mention recognition for his role on the team as a linebacker, joining Wayde Montgomery and Dartavious Napper, who were awarded honorable mention honors as a defensive lineman and a safety, respectively.
On the offensive side of the ball, running back, Calvin Sims and place kicker, Reid Ragsdale were named honorable mentions to the second team All-Region.
