AMERICUS — Maudene A. Scott, age 99, of Americus, died Sunday, Jan. 1, 2017, at Magnolia Manor Nursing Center. A native of Kisatchie, La., she was born Oct. 25, 1917, the daughter of the late Ellis and Rowena Anderson. Mrs. Scott was a member of First Baptist Church and longtime member of the Pilot Club and the Glendale Garden Club. She was the oldest of seven children. She and her husband owned and operated Scott’s TV for over 25 years in Americus.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2017, at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Keith Parks officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at 807 S. Lee St., the home of Meg Usrey. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the League of the Good Samaritan, Magnolia Manor, 2001 S. Lee St., Americus GA 31709.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Peggy Heys (Ed) of Dunwoody; a son and daughter-in-law, Ronald D. Scott (Georgia) of Americus; a sister, Faye Wilkerson of Fairfax, Ala.; a brother, Wilmer Anderson of Buffalo, N.Y.; four grandchildren, Ed Heys Jr. of Atlanta, Mark Heys of Milton, Mary Margaret “Meg” Usrey of Americus, and Emily Odom of Bluffton; and six great-grandchildren.
