AMERICUS — Ms. Mildred Emily Farr, age 98, of 317 Judy Lane, Americus, Ga., passed away Friday, Dec. 30, 2016, at Perfect Care in Americus, Ga. A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 2, 2017, in the chapel of Aldridge Funeral Services. Interment followed at Sunset Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Hilton Gillespie officiated. A visitation was held an hour prior to service Monday, Jan. 2, 2017, in the chapel of Aldridge Funeral Services.

Ms. Mildred Emily Farr was born Sept. 27, 1918 in Rutledge, Ga. She served as a homemaker. She was a member of Grace Community Church.

She was preceded in death by her father, Henry H. Hensler; her mother, Jessie Clyde Phelps; her husband Elgin Farr; three brothers, James Carter Hensler, Brudd Hensler, and Joseph Hensler; three sisters, Edna Howard, Katherine McCord, and Euberta Malcom; one son, Clifford Farr; three sons-in-law, John Alford, Earl Gillespie, and Wayne Carden; and one great-grandson, Konnor Farr. She is survived by two brothers, Paul (Dale) Hensler of Rutledge, Ga., and Palmer Hensler (Edna) of Milner, Ga.; four daughters, Shirley Gillespie of Arkansas, Emily Alford of Americus, Ga., Janette Carden of Americus, Ga., and Christine Odom (Sam) of Americus, Ga.; and two sons, Millard Farr of Plains, Ga., and Walter Farr (Carmen) of Americus, Ga. Other survivors include 13 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 13 great-great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
