ANDERSONVILLE — C.H. Carnes, age 88, of 415 Johnson St., Andersonville, died at his residence Friday, Jan. 6, 2017. A native of Cordele, he was born Dec. 23, 1928, the son of the late Leslie Thomas Carnes and Lucy Harden Carnes. Mr. Carnes was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints and was a loving father and grandfather who enjoyed working and making people happy.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2017, in the chapel of Greg Hancock Funeral. Burial will follow at Andersonville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from noon-1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2017, at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel and at other times the family residence, 415 Johnson St., Andersonville. Pallbearers include Ricky Carnes, Michael Carnes, Dusty Carnes, Mark Carnes, Tony Carnes, Scott Carnes, Lance Styck, Chance Styck, and Vance Styck. Honorary pallbearers include Randy McPhail. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Georgia Chapter, 225 Second Street, E., Tifton GA  31794.

Survivors include his wife, Ruby Magdelen Walls Carnes of Andersonville; two daughters and son-in-law, Brenda and Roger Coffman of Cobb, and Tracy Webb of Andersonville; two sons and daughters-in-law, Gregg and Francis Carnes of DeSoto and Gary and Bonnie Carnes of Leslie, and Crystal Carnes; 12 grandchildren, Laurie and Scott Lewis, Ricky and Mandy Carnes, Joy and Mason Smith, Amy and Mark Lewis, Tony and Missy Carnes, Scott Carnes, Lance and Jessica Styck, Chance and Chanda Styck, Vance and Natalie Styck, Mike and Sherry Carnes, Dusty and Angela Carnes, and Mark and Lyndsay Carnes; 29 great-grandchildren, Megan, Samuel, Sarah, Natalie, Little Ricky, Nikki, Casey, Destiny, Shelby, Jade, Michael, Samantha, Sallyann, Cami, J.P., Alex, Gaige, Allen, Kami, Jade, Riane, Landen, Gabez, Taylor, Elijah, Maddie, Shelby Kate, Emma Grace, and Jace; and three great-great-grandchildren, Allison, Cayden, and Zoey.
