AMERICUS — The Methodist Home for Children and Youth has achieved national accreditation through the New York-based Council on Accreditation (COA). COA evaluated all aspects of The Methodist Home’s programs, services, management, and administration to determine reaccreditation.
Organizations pursue accreditation to demonstrate the implementation of best practice standards in the field of human services. COA accreditation is an objective, independent, and reliable validation of an agency’s performance. The accreditation process involves a detailed review and analysis of an organization’s administration, management, and service delivery functions against international standards of best practice.
The Methodist Home has been accredited with COA since 1992. Every four years, COA evaluates the performance of the organization to determine reaccreditation. The Methodist Home serves children and youth in crisis all across South Georgia.

About The Methodist Home
Founded in 1872 in Macon, The Methodist Home serves children, youth, and families in crisis. Residential campuses serve 130 youth across the state of Georgia, including Americus, Columbus, Macon, St. Marys, Valdosta, and Waverly Hall. The Home also serves another 400 families annually with community-based services through its Lighthouse for Families program.
