Area students make Dean’s List at Georgia Tech
ATLANTA — The following students have earned the distinction of Dean’s List at the Georgia Institute of Technology for Fall 2016. This designation is awarded to undergraduate students who have a 3.0 or higher academic average for the semester.

Sumter student Makes Brewton-Parker Dean’s List
MOUNT VERNON — Kali Worth of Americus qualified for the Dean’s List at Brewton-Parker College of Mount Vernon, Georgia, for the fall 2016 semester, announced Dr. Robert Brian, provost.
Qualifying students were enrolled in 12 or more hours and earned a grade point average of 3.6 or better.
Brewton-Parker College is the only accredited four-year Christian college south of Macon and north of Jacksonville, Fla. The mission of Brewton-Parker College, a Georgia Baptist college, is to develop the whole student through the application of Biblically-centered truth to a liberal arts curriculum in a community of shared Christian values.

Georgia Southern announces Fall 2016 President’s List
STATESBORO — Georgia Southern University recently recognized more than 1,350 students for excellence in academics on the Fall 2016 semester President’s List. To be eligible for the President’s List, a student must have at least a 4.0 grade point average and carry a minimum of 12 hours for the semester.

Georgia Southern announces Fall 2016 graduates
STATESBORO — The 25th annual Georgia Southern Fall 2016 Commencement Ceremony represented a momentous day as approximately 1,700 of Georgia’s best and brightest undergraduate and graduate students received degrees from the University’s eight colleges. Approximately 400 graduate degrees were conferred, while around 1,300 undergraduate students received degrees.
Local and area graduates included Crystal Ivory of Marshallville, bachelor of business administration in accounting; Taylor McKenzie of Cobb, bachelor of business administration in finance; Jasmine Sykes of Americus, bachelor of science in nursing; Andrew Colter of Ellaville, bachelor of science in political science; Dakota Peaster of Oglethorpe, bachelor of science in journalism; and Breyon Rice of Marshallville, bachelor of arts in international studies.
