MONTEZUMA — On Thursday afternoon, the Montezuma Police Department and the Macon County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at 40 Brittney Lane, Montezuma. Officers raided the residence and found marijuana, cocaine, crack cocaine, crystal methamphetamine, and other drugs within the residence, along with cash and a firearm. Over $10,000 in drugs were taken off the streets in this raid. Montezuma Police Chief Eric Finch Department said, “This was a unified effort by the Montezuma Police Department and the Macon County Sheriff’s Office to get drugs off the streets in Macon County.”
The investigation was led by Capt. Rodney Flynt and Investigator Christopher Halstead.
Macon County Sheriff Charles Cannon said, “I am very pleased with the work Captain Flynt and Investigator Halstead are doing. Since I took office in January, we have served over 13 search warrants.”
A 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe was seized during the raid due to the vehicle being used to transport the illegal narcotics.
The following offenders are being held at the Macon County Jail on trafficking charges with other charges pending: Brian DeMario Harris, 35, 706 Travelers Rest Road, Montezuma; Alexis B. Murray, 36, 624 Railroad St.,  Oglethorpe; Tevotis Tookes, 25, 504 Mills St., Oglethorpe; Aaron Jackson, 39, Rt. 1 Lot Spruce St., Oglethorpe; Jamarcus Keon Hill, 27, 818 S. Plum St., Montezuma; anmd Levario Maurice Stewart, 35, 710 Vienna Road, Montezuma.

A total of 45 warrants are being signed. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation also assisted in processing the crime scene.
