AMERICUS — Nancy Jill Barry Beck, born January 18, 1963, succumbed to cancer after a valiant 17-year battle Monday, Feb. 27, 2017, at her home on Barlow Street, Americus, Georgia. She was a daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.  She was a native of Americus, Georgia, where she was employed at Americus Sumter County Regional Hospital as a respiratory therapist then as a sleep study therapist before retiring.  She is survived by her devoted husband, Erik Beck; daughter, Kelly Averett of Charleston, S.C.; stepson, Coty Beck of Americus, Ga.; two grandchildren, Joey and Jenny Arico of Whitman, Mass.; mother, Janis Harris Barry McLendon and stepfather Alvin McLendon; sisters, Lynn (Michael) Rutland of Albany, Faye Anne (John) Barry of Titusville, Fla.; brothers, Jim (Lorraine) Barry of Southport, N.C., Lane (Charlotte) Barry of Port St. John, Fla.; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her father James Donald Barry and daughter, Amanda Elizabeth Morris.

 

A graveside memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 11, 2017, at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Americus. The Rev. Sims Jones and the Rev. Earl Dunmon will officiate. A lunch and celebration of life will follow. Memorials may be made to Eastside Baptist Church Building Fund, Americus, Ga.

She was loved by everyone who knew her. Rest in peace.
