Americus Fire & Emergency Services

• Firefighters responded to 17 calls for medical assistance.
• Firefighters responded to a traffic accident on Davenport Street.
• Firefighters responded to traffic accident at Millar Fuller Boulevard and West Church Street where they found a car that had run off the roadway and was sitting with its front end in Town Creek. They used “pigs and blankets” to soak up the gasoline leaking into the creek, and a wrecker service was called to remove the car.
• Firefighters responded to a traffic accident at West Lamar Street and South Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
• Firefighters responded to South Hampton Street to a report of gas odor. No hazards were found.
• Firefighters responded to a report of a gas leak at Flash Foods, 1101 Crawford St. They found a small opening in a gas line. They stopped the hose from leaking until it could be serviced.
• Firefighters responded to a carbon monoxide alarm on Barbara Battle Way. They found no hazards but were advised by the occupants that the apartment is under reconstruction and the detector could be collecting dust or paint particles.
• Firefighters responded to a traffic accident at South Lee and Church streets.
• Firefighters responded to Montgomery Street to a report of a wild land fire. They found a dead tree stump on fire which they extinguished.
• Firefighters responded to a traffic accident on West Forsyth Street.
• Firefighters responded to Mayo and Argo streets to a report of a power line down. They found a power line actively arcing and advised Georgia Power. They also blocked the intersection of Ashby and Argo streets.

• Trittney K. Dismuke, 26, of 113 Ga. Highway 37 East, Apt. E4, Americus is charged with open container, colliding with a fixed object and DUI.
• Betty A. Foster, 43, of 722 Beale St., Americus is charged with disorderly conduct, and was jailed.
• Nilla M. Hollis, 20, of 117 S. Bailey Ave., Leslie is charged with disorderly conduct, and was jailed.
• Mary E. Holmes, 19, of 306 Pineview Drive, Americus is charged with terroristic threats and acts, and disorderly conduct, and was jailed.
• Deandre R. Jones, 21, of 126-A Horton Drive, Americus is charged with criminal trespass.
• Anthony E. King, 41, of 1311 First Montgomery St., Americus is charged with probation violation, and was jailed.
• Latoya M. Lusane, 24, of 606 GSW State University Drive, Americus is charged with disorderly conduct, and was jailed.
• Kristin N. Raven, 35, of 226 Brookdale Drive, Americus is charged with contempt of court. Her $100 fee was paid and she was given a second court date for the original charge.
• Tahj M. Ruff, 19, of 69 Masonic Drive, Americus is charged with felony theft by taking, misdemeanor theft by receiving stolen property, criminal trespass, and probation violation, and was jailed.
• Keon J. Sims, 29, of 1517 S. Lee St., Americus is charged with criminal trespass.
• Ryan C. Tyner, 22, of 217-A Horton Drive, Americus is charged with disorderly conduct.
• Jarvis J. Ward, 24, homeless is charged with criminal trespass, and was jailed.
• Anthony H. Wills, 48, of 130 Lonnie Lane, Apt. 115, Americus was arrested on an outstanding warrant, and is charge with five counts of deposit account fraud and probation violation, and was jailed.

• Jessica K. Nobles, 45, of 306 Rabbit Branch Road, Plains is charged with DUI, open container, failure to dim lights, endangering a child by DUI alcohol or drugs, and driving with an expired license, and was released on bond.
• Altha A. Stewart, 27, of Albany is charged with child restraint violation and driving while unlicensed, and was jailed.
