AMERICUS – The Seventh Annual Shamrock Jog and Jam is scheduled to be held on March 18 in Americus.
Organized by Accelerated Physical Therapy in Americus, the Shamrock Jog and Jam benefits the Scott Law Foundation.
The event will consist of a one-mile fun run/walk and a 5K race that will take runners through downtown Americus. An evening of family-friendly activities will be held in downtown Americus in addition to the race.
The one-mile event will begin at 6:00 and the 5K race will begin at 6:30 p.m. Both events will start at Rylander Park in downtown Americus.
Trophies will be awarded to the top male and female runners. Prizes will also be awarded to winners in a variety of age groups.
Pre-registration for the 5K event is $20. The same-day registration fee for the 5K event is $25. Pre-registration for the one-mile event is $15. Same-day registration for the one-mile event costs $20. A family pre-registration rate is available for both events as well.

According to a recent press release, the mission of the Scott Law Foundation is to provide direct financial assistance to Sumter and surrounding county residents suffering from cancer or other medical ailments.
