Schley County Health Board meets
The Schley County Health Board held its quarterly meeting March 15. Chairman David Theiss called the meeting to order, and recognized new board member, Dennis Jones, who represents the Schley County Board of Commissioners.
Dr. Beverly Townsend gave the District Director’s Report, saying that all of Georgia needs to work together to help all Georgia’s health departments. She also distributed CDC Reports and Public Health Crisis Reports to the board.
Kristy Smith, Schley County Health nurse, gave her report and said 788 patients have been seen in a few months which is good for a small county.
Lincoln Mitchell gave the Environmental Health Report and said two businesses have received licenses to sell food.
Those in attendance, in addition to those previously mentioned, were Nancy McMath Young, Karen Montgomery, Adam Hathaway, and Karen Bush and JoAnne Strickland, District staff members.
The Schley County Health Department will be closed on April 21 for a special meeting out of town.

Ellaville-Schley County Historical Society asks for help
says thank you
The Ellaville/Schley County Historical Society needs 12 to 14 women to help man a booth at Springtime Ellaville on April 22. You may select your time unless someone has picked first. Memorials and Honor Plaques for the Memorial Wall in the Courthouse will be sold from the booth. The festival is from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Two or three people are needed for each hour. Call Nancy Young at 937-2116.

Ellaville welcomes city manager
Welcome to Lynne McChargue, city manager. She has bought a new home in Ellaville and moved in the weekend of March 10.  She lives on the corner of Ebenezer and Amanda Lane.

Ralwin’s Art Gallery has Grand Opening, ribbon cutting ceremony
On March 11, Ralwin’s Art Gallery had its Grand Opening with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony by the Ellaville-Schley County Chamber of Commerce. There was a large crowd for this special occasion. Owner Yorka Ralwins served wine and finger foods.
