The Sumter County School System holds a special Job Fair from 5-7 p.m. April 6 at the Rees Park Economic Development Center, 409 Elm Ave., Americus. Principals from all the schools will be on hand to meet applicants and provide information. This is a unique opportunity for certified teachers interested in beginning employment in the 2017-2018 school year. Sumter County Schools provide teachers with unique opportunities to realize their full potential through wide-ranging professional development opportunities from The New Teacher Academy, to mentorships, to state academic conferences, to the support of academic coaches. Teachers in the system also receive a county educational supplement, making Sumter County Schools one of the best paying districts in the region. The system has also received funding for the construction of a new high school to be completed within the next three years. For more information, check www.sumterschools.org.
