AMERICUS — The South Georgia Technical College (SGTC) Foundation recently received a $50,000 grant from Sabal Trail Transmission to provide scholarships to deserving students in the industrial, transportation, public service, and medical programs at SGTC.
“This is a tremendous opportunity for South Georgia Technical College students,” said SGTC President John Watford, Ed.D. “I would like to express my appreciation to Sabal Trail Transmission and Andrea Grover for their support of our students, the college, and foundation.”
“Sabal Trail is committed to helping provide educational and workforce development opportunities as well as supporting and bolstering successful communities along the pipeline route. We pride ourselves on helping others and having a positive impact while creating lasting changes with a legacy for others to enjoy years from now,” said Andrea Grover, director for Stakeholder Outreach for Sabal Trail Transmission.
The one-time $50,000 gift from Sabal Trail Transmission will provide numerous scholarships over the next three years to academically deserving and financially needy students who are enrolled in SGTC’s programs.
“This is an amazing opportunity for the students at South Georgia Technical College,” said SGTC Foundation Executive Director Su Ann Bird. “I would like to thank Sabal Trail on behalf of the foundation and the students that will benefit from this very generous gift. You are impacting this community as well as individuals’ lives in a tremendous way by providing the gift of education to students who may not have been able to start or continue their goal of a college education.”
