LESLIE — A service to remember and honor the life he lived was held for Alan Dale Ford of Cobb at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 1, 2017, at Leslie United Methodist Church. The Rev. Tommy Mason officiated the service. Martha Usry, pianist, provided soft music. Tamara Jacobs accompanied herself and the Kennedy Family as they sang “What A Day That Will Be” and “It Is Well.”  The family received friends immediately following the service at the church. Alan passed away Thursday, March 30, 2017, at Willson Hospice House in Albany. Born in Los Angeles, Calif., he was the son of the late Richard Neil Ford and Nancy Bradshaw Ford. The owner/operator of Dixie Lix Industries in Cobb, Alan was an avid cattleman and an active member of Leslie United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Cheryl Baggett Ford of Cobb; a son, Alan Dale Ford II and his wife, Kristen of Albany; two grandchildren, Alan Dale “Trece” Ford III and Abigail Rane Ford, both of Albany; a brother and his wife, Brad and Mimi Ford of Cordele; a nephew and niece, Bradshaw Ford and his wife, Elizabeth and Natalie Cozart and her husband, Jared, all of Macon. Memorial contributions to Leslie United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 116, Leslie GA 31764 would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements were by Rainey Family Funeral Services.
