Tornado warning until 1 p.m. Take cover now

At 12:29 p.m. today, severe thunderstorms, capable of producing tornadoes and extensive straight line wind damage were located over Church Hill, or 8 miles north of Preston moving northeast at 50 mph.

Radar detected rotation. Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely.

Locations impacted include northern Sumter County, Ellaville, Buena Vista, Andersonville.
