AMERICUS — Jacob Cody Jones, 25, of Plains, died Tuesday, April 4, 2017, at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center. He was born on Nov. 30, 1991, in Americus, to Stanford Ray Jones and Terri Lacy Jones. He was a member of Plains United Methodist Church and the Methodist Men’s Group. He loved his community of Plains, deep sea fishing, and was very active with the Heart of Georgia Chrysalis.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, April 7, 2017, at Plains United Methodist Church with Brother Rick Hamilton and Brother Stan Ballew officiating. Interment will follow in the Leslie City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, April 6, 2017, at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel in Americus.

Survivors include his parents, Stan and Terri Jones of Plains; maternal grandparents: Harold and Evon Spurlin of DeSoto, and Layne and Janis Lacy of Leslie; paternal grandmother, Loraine Jones of Plains; and a number of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
