PLAINS —  The staff of the Jimmy Carter National Historic Site (JCNHS) invites local children to attend its Fourth Annual Easter Egg Hunt at 2 p.m. April 15 at the Jimmy Carter Boyhood Farm in Plains.
The children will enjoy searching for almost 2,000 plastic eggs that are hidden. The children will burst with excitement to discover that special eggs contain surprises such as “golden” certificates for a special prizes and gift certificates for free peanut butter ice cream.
As in previous years, there are three age group categories: (1) ages 3 and under, (2) ages 4-7, and (3) ages 8-12. Participants will then be allowed to hunt for the eggs in locations appropriate for their age grouping.
The Jimmy Carter National Historic Site will also be celebrating Junior Ranger Day at the farm. “Explore, Learn, and Protect!” The Junior Ranger motto recited by children around the country; each taking an oath of their own to protect parks, continue to learn about parks, and share their own ranger story with friends and family. Children can earn their JCNHS Junior Ranger Badge by participating in some hands-on activities and completing the scavenger hunt questions while they learn more about Jimmy Carter.
