ELLAVILLE —  The Middle Flint Regional E-911 saw an increase in 911 calls and calls for service during thr recent round of  storms.
On Monday. April 3, the E-911 Center answered over 300 emergency and non-emergency lines resulting in 289 incidents being created and dispatched. Most of the calls were trees down in the roadways and limbs on power lines. The bulk of calls came from Schley County.
On Wednesday, April 5, three separate waves of storms passed through the eight-county service region for Middle Flint Regional E-911. The center sent out 592 calls for service to law enforcement, fire, EMS, public utility, and road/street departments during the three waves of storms. All eight counties received weather events on April 5  and thankfully no injuries were reported.
The E-911 Center brought in extra staff to cover these events. The Middle Flint Regional E-911 Authority is thankful for all of the hard work and cooperation from our Public Safety Agencies during these storms, according to Jason Lawson, executive director.
