BONAIRE, Ga. —Arthur Lee Deriso Jr., 47, passed away suddenly Wednesday, April 19, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 26, 2017, in the chapel of Heritage Memorial Funeral Home with burial to follow at Parkway Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. April 25, 2017, at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home. Bishop Melvin McCluster will officiate.

Arthur was born Feb. 18, 1970, in DeSoto, Ga., to Mrs. Arrie Belle “AB” Jackson and Mr. Arthur Lee Deriso Sr. He proudly served his country in the United States Army where he served in Desert Storm. After his time in the military, he began work as a sales consultant which he did for the last 15 years, currently employed at Jeff Smith Automotive in Perry, Ga. He was a hard worker, could put a smile on anyone’s face and was always full of life. Arthur was a loving and devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend that will be greatly missed by all.

He is preceded in death by his brother Arthur J. Deriso; grandmother Ida Belle High, and grandmother-in-law Thelma Mae Hughes Hamilton.

Along with his parents, he is survived by his loving wife, Sonya Deriso of Bonaire; five children, Destine’ Hughes, Devin Hughes, Dalvin Hughes, Alonia Deriso, and Alaura Deriso; step mother, Betty Deriso; two sisters, Lashunda Jackson of Leesburg; Tiffany Deriso Davis of Albany; brother-in-law, Mark Anthony Hughes II; many adoring aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; devoted friends Kamiereo and Cherena Hollingsworth; Jeff Smith; and all of the Jeff Smith Automotive Family.
