ELLAVILLE — Strange Farms, a family owned, local farm is hosting a music festival to gather the community and honor military families on Saturday, May 27.
Strange Farms will open to the public with live music, featuring Mac Powell. Powell is  the lead singer of Grammy award winning band, Third Day. He will be performing his new country album, South Paw. He, along with local bluegrass band, Sweet Water Creek, will join together to create an evening celebrating and remembering the heroes who sacrificed for the freedom we enjoy.
Tickets are free with a valid military ID and ticket registration. As part of the evening, there  will be a time of remembrance and tribute for our fallen soldiers. Author and decorated  member of the U.S. Army’s most elite fighting corps, Jeff Struecker, will be speaking. There will also be a professional fireworks show to conclude the evening.
Local businesses have come together to sponsor the festival. In addition, non-
profit organizations who help and support military families will also be present to connect  with the community.
Kids under 5 are free, making it possible and affordable for families to experience the night  together. Tickets are otherwise $10 each in advance.
Food is free and provided by local vendors with ticket purchase until May 22. After that date, food can be purchased while supplies last at the event. Tickets can be purchased at the door but do not include the free food voucher.
Strange Farms Festival came out of Jed Strange’s passion to bring communities together and enjoy good music. President of Strange Farms, he grew up in Ellaville where the Strange family ran a local business supplying security products to the U.S. military for 20 years. Hearing the stories and seeing the great sacrifice made by our soldiers, the family’s appreciation grew. This festival is a family-friendly event hosted by the Strange family to bring the community together and thank those who have fought and continue to sacrifice for our freedom to gather together.
