Sumter County Extension staff awarded

AMERICUS — The Georgia Association of Extension 4-H Agents annual meeting and professional improvement conference was held April 17-19 at Rock Eagle 4-H Center in Eatonton. During the State Awards brunch on April 19, Sumter County Extension secretary, Keisha Wise, and 4-H Extension agent, Crystal Perry, were awarded.
Wise received the GAE4-HA Southwest District Outstanding Secretary award. In her 21 years of service at Sumter County Extension office, her work ethic of ensuring excellence has not changed. She is known throughout the state for going above and beyond for UGA Extension and Sumter County.
Crystal Perry, 4-H Extension agent, was awarded Southwest District Outstanding New Extension Professional Award. Since 2014, she has served as Sumter County 4-H agent and has worked quickly to restore programming in Sumter County. Her work has expanded the 4-H program to reach over 700 youth in Sumter County and also includes national work and projects with the National Association of Extension 4-H Agents Diversity Task Force and Extension Foundation Diversity & Inclusion Issue Corps.
