AMERICUS — Funeral services for Mrs. Ella Mae Harvey Colwell of Americus, Ga., will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, May 13, 2017, at Lebanon Baptist Church. The Rev. Hosie Waters will officiate and burial will follow in the Lebanon Cemetery. The remains will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the services. Wake services will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday, May 12, 2017, in the Barnum Funeral Home Chapel.

Mrs. Ella Mae Harvey Colwell was born on Dec. 28, 1925, in Sumter County, Georgia, to the parentage of the late Mr. Albert Dean Harvey and the late Mrs. Lucy Mae Pickett Harvey.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband, Mr. Bowman Colwell; five sons, Mr. Samuel (Codane) Colwell Sr., Mr. Abraham Colwell, Mr. David (Eretha) Colwell, Mr. George Colwell and Mr. Steven Colwell; four daughters, Ms. Freddie Mae Bacon, Ms. Burnette Dunning, Mrs. Beulah (James) Ross and Mrs. Naomi (Ernest) Evans; two sisters, Ms. Mary Frances Stewart and Mrs. Janie (Joseph) Prather; four sisters-in-law, Mrs. Annie Dean (David) Shepherd, Ms. Regina Tullis, Ms. Josephine Harvey and Ms. Rehojah Small Harvey; one brother-in-law, Mr. Daniel Eugene Colwell; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.
