Bike to Work Day is May 19

AMERICUS — Friday, May 19 is Bike to Work Day, as part of Bike Week may 15-19.
In Americus, everyone is encouraged to ride their bike to work that day and enjoy free morning snacks and coffee between 6:30 and 9 a.m. at an energizing station on the front law of the Russell Thomas Jr. Public Safety Building. Locals are also invited to ride with Americus Mayor Barry Blount from Georgia Southwestern State University (GSW) to Rylander Park in downtown for a free pizza lunch with the mayor, Sumter Cycling and other cyclists. Meet at the main circle in front of the GSW administration building at noon.
The events are sponsored by River Valley Regional Commission, Sumter Cycling, the City of Americus, and Café Campesino.
