Local educator earns doctorate in education

AMERICUS — Americus-Sumter High School’s (ASHS) Marnie Dutcher has received a doctorate of education degree from Columbus State University. She completed the doctoral program in curriculum and leadership, and joined the ASHS team earlier this year as an assistant principal.
A native of Thomasville, Dutcher has lived in Americus for more than 20 years. She has worked with Americus-Sumter County Schools in varying capacities since 1996, including teacher, academic coach, and administrator. She previously received undergraduate and graduate degrees from Georgia Southwestern State University.
