AMERICUS — Sumter County Schools Superintendent, Torrance Choates, and the Sumter County Board of Education recognized the individuals who are retiring from the system at the end of the 2016-17 school term during its regular May monthly meeting. They are as follows.
Sharon Jackson, director of Career, Technical and Agricultural Education, 30 years of service
Rubye Dennard, Sumter Intermediate, food assistant, 24 years of service
Martha Mann, Sumter Primary, food assistant, 24 years of service
Vivian Davis, Sumter Primary, paraprofessional
Gracie Patterson, Sumter Primary, paraprofessional
Lora Wells, Sumter Primary, paraprofessional
Rebecca Wishum, Sumter Primary, elementary teacher
Gail Enloe, Sumter Elementary, elementary teacher
Greg Aplin, Sumter Middle, chorus teacher
