SMITHVILLE — Mrs. Louise Veal Goodin, age 93, passed away on Monday, May 22, 2017, at her home in Smithville.

Funeral services were planned for 3 p.m. on Wednesday, May 24, from the graveside at Sunset Memorial Gardens, with the Rev. Mark Kinservik officiating.

The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 23, at Hancock Funeral Home, 427 S. Lee St.

Born June 2, 1923, in the New Era community, she was a daughter of the late Nathan Veal and Lee Edosia Battle Veal.

Mrs. Goodin was a home maker and a member of County Line United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; by her husband, Chester Goodin; by two sons: Nathan Goodin and Kerman Goodin; by one son-in-law, Larry Dew; by four brothers and two sisters; and by one grandchild.

Survivors include two sons: Joe Goodin (Donna) and Allen Goodin (Candy); two daughters: Shirley Dew and Barbara Harris (Jim); two daughters-in-law: Joy Goodin and Marilyn Goodin; 19 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
