Queen and Court comprised of five young women
AMERICUS — The Miss SAR Pageant was recently in the Southland Academy Gymnatorium. This contest is a scholarship pageant with all proceeds going toward the Thomas Greene and Madeline Wildes tuition scholarship funds.
This year’s contestants were as follows: senior Addie Cook, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Cook of Americus; senior, Abby Dent, daughter of  Mr. and Mrs. David Dent of Americus; senior Lauren Barthell, daughter, of Mr. and Mrs. Mike Barthell of Americus; senior, Mary Nell Rush, daughter of Sheryl Rush and the late Tuck Rush of Americus; and junior, Hannah Philpot, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Travis Brassfield of Americus.
The pageant winners were as follows: People’s Choice – Lauren Barthell; Miss Congeniality – Hannah Philpot; Talent Award – Abby Dent; Bett Womack Interview Award – Abby Dent; 2nd Runner Up – Addie Cook; 1st Runner Up – Abby Dent; and Miss SAR – Mary Nell Rush.
