Sumter EMC to hold annual meeting

AMERICUS — Sumter Electric Membership Corporation will hold its Annual Meeting of Members on Saturday, June 10 in the gymnasium at South Georgia Technical College. The meeting will be called to order at 8 a.m., for the purpose of registration between 8 and 10:30 a.m. The business session of the meeting will be called to order at 10:30 a.m., at which time registration will close.
Beginning at 8 a.m., entertainment will be provided by the Dayspring Trio. Based in Americus, the trio has been performing Southern gospel music and touching hearts with a solid gospel message through their great vocal harmony since their debut performance in 2008. Members of the group include tenor David Luten, his brother and lead singer, Michael Luten, and longtime friend Jason Ross, who sings baritone.
During the business session the membership will hear reports of officers, directors, and committees; elect directors whose seats are not contested; receive the report of the Credentials and Election Committee on the election of any directors whose seats are contested; and conduct all other business that may properly come before the meeting or any adjournment or adjournments thereof. The four candidates nominated by the Committee on Nominations for terms on the board of directors ar: Michael D. Webb, Chattahoochee County; Christi E. Dockery, Lee County; Charles E. Hart, Schley County; and Lawrence Williams, At-large.
Following the business session, more than 40 prizes will be given away, including a $2,000 gift certificate that can be used to purchase items from Sumter EMC’s appliance center and a 65-inch Samsung Smart color television.
