AUGUSTA — Marci Belcher Thompson, age 42, of 717 E. 18th Ave., Cordele, died Sunday, June 4, 2017, at Doctor’s Hospital in Augusta.

Marci was born on April 28, 1975, in Lakeland, Florida. She worked as a charge nurse at Summerhill Senior Living Center in Perry. She truly loved helping people and would always go out of her way to help others in any way she could. That was true not only in caring for the patients she served but with her family and friends as well. She also loved to make other people laugh. Marci was a member of First Baptist Church of Cordele.

She is survived by her husband, Al Thompson of Cordele; her daughter, Madilynn Thompson of Cordele; her stepsons, Tyler Thompson of Cordele and Weston Thompson of Cordele; her parents, Monty and Vickie Belcher of Vienna; her sisters, Monica Irwin of Vienna and Melissa Belcher of Cumming; her niece, Jerrett Irwin of Cordele; her nephew, Jantzen Irwin of Cordele; her mother-in-law, Dianne Thompson of Cordele; her brother-in-law, Jim Irwin of Cordele; her beloved cat, Ping.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 7 at Vienna First Baptist Church. The Rev. Brian Leverett, the Rev. Ray Sullivan and the Rev. Brian Cason will officiate. Interment will follow in Vienna City Cemetery.
