AMERICUS — On Friday, July 7, Americus will hold its monthly “First Friday” downtownwide open house. This First Friday Americus Main Street is bringing the beach to downtown Americus, and invites everyone to come out and be a part of this experience! Festivities begin at 5 p.m. with most shops and businesses staying open until 8 p.m. “First Friday After Dark” continues the festivities into the night after 8 p.m.
Americus Main Street has ordered 40 tons of sand this event! Everyone is invited to come and have a Beach Party experience while also enjoying the city’s art, music, food, wares and crafts.
Andy T will be on the beach playing his steel drums offering unique beach-style type music to the atmosphere.
The downtown businesses are excited and ready to get the party started! Americus Snoball and Shaved Ice Co. will have snow cones. Center Stage Market will host the tango. Innovative Senior Solutions will be playing Beach Boys music. There will be a 4th of July sale at The Maze. Bittersweet will have live music. The Rylander Theatre will be showing the movie “Jaws,” and so much more!
The Americus Street Trolley will provide attendees transportation during the event. The trolley will make a loop of the event and is provided by Americus Main Street, free of charge. All activities, exhibits and performances are free of charge.
