ELLAVILLE — The Schley County Public Health Department and the Schley County Family Connection Collaborative are teaming up to host a Back to School Bash for 250 low-income students in Schley County. The event will be held from 10 a.m.-noon on Saturday, July 22 at the Schley County Public Health Department. Free refreshments will be available and there will be several vendors and local service providers on hand to discuss the many free health programs and services that are available in Schley County. A Certified Passenger Safety Technician will be on hand to conduct free car seat safety checks.
Parents, grandparents and guardians may sign up students for the free schools supplies at the Schley County Health Department or at Schley County Department of Family and Children Services (DFCS ). Parents and their children must be present at the event in order to receive the supplies. Any supplies that are left over will be given to the Schley County School System.
The Schley County Family Connection Collaborative encourages all Schley County parents to pick up a few extra school supplies and donate them for the event. You may drop off supplies at the Schley County Public Health Department or Schley County DFCS.
There is also a need of bottled water, granola bars, and other healthy snacks to distribute during the event.
