Descendants of the Rev. H.G.B. Turner marked their 60th annual family reunion on June 25 at Olive Vine Baptist Church in Pine Log, Ga. Turner, an influential North Georgia minister, founded the church in 1880. Relatives from at least four states and several cities, including Americus, attended. Shown from left are Frances and Jack Short of Americus, and Sandra and Fred Turner of Cleveland, Tenn. Jack Short is a son of the late Ruth Turner Short, and Fred Turner is a son of the late Winfred Turner. Both are great-grandsons of H.G.B. Turner. The family of H.G.B. Turner’s youngest son, Paul Lee Turner Sr. led this year’s reunion. Paul Lee Turner Sr. and his wife started the reunion in 1957.
