Shooting suspect in custody

The suspect in the shooting death of Bradley Jamal Green is now in custody. Kentavous Cortez Wilkerson, age 22, of Americus turned himself in to the Americus Police Department at approximately 10:00 AM. He is being charged with felony murder, two counts of aggravated
assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. He is currently being
housed at the Sumter County Jail.
Officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 500 block of Bell Street in Americus at approximately 5:40 p.m. Saturday. Two victims were transported from the scene by ambulance, and
taken to Phoebe Sumter Medical Center. Bradley Jamal Green, age 24 was pronounced dead at the hospital. Also injured was Rodney Greene, age 23, who was treated and released from the hospital.
The incident was investigated jointly by the Americus Police Department and the Georgia Bureau of
Investigation.
