Sumter Humane Society receives SNAP grant

AMERICUS — The Sumter Humane is the recipient of an ongoing monthly grant for the spaying and neutering of Americus and Sumter County family-owned pets. Participants must be low income to qualify and 30 free vouchers will be awarded each month. Surgeries will be completed by Americus Veterinary Clinic, Harper’s Animal Clinic, and Whispering Pines Animal Hospital.
The Martha Marshall Dykes Family are dedicated pet lovers committed in their support of improving the lives of local cats and dogs, reducing the number of unwanted litters, and decreasing the number of pets entering the shelter every year. The shelter is very pleased that they have been chosen to implement this new program.
