LESLIE — Mr. Bernard Jarrett, 80, passed away Aug. 16, 2017, at his home in Leslie, Ga. He was born to the late Herbert Lee and Lilly Jarrett on Jan. 11, 1937, in Henry County, Va. He served in the U.S. Army then worked as a machinist, welder and metal fabricator,  and later in life as a truck driver. He co-owned Leslie Machine Shop, located in Leslie, Ga., with his brother Lee Roy Jarrett.

He will be interred at noon Monday, Aug. 21, 2017, at Andersonville National Cemetery with the Rev. Jim English officiating. Service will be private for family only.

He leaves behind his wife, Grace Jarrett; three daughters: Caroline Ann J. Self of Americus, Ga., Brinda Elaine J. Moody (married to Jack Moody) of Americus, Ga., Patricia Lynn J. McGriff (married to Greg McGriff) of McDonough, Ga.; one brother-in-law, Leon Martin of Dewey, Okla..;  three grandchildren, Patrick Eugene Self, Matthew Charles Self, Lisa Marie Kinsey;  three great-grandchildren, Charles Hartley Kinsey, Abigail Grace Kinsey, Sarah Christine Kinsey; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Lee Roy Jarrett and Glen M. Jarrett, and his sister, Ann J. Martin.
