Summer homework doesn’t have to be a chore! The scholars at Furlow Charter School in the classes of 2025 and 2026 can prove this! Four-wheeling, Odyssey World Finals in Michigan, Chehaw Park, giving the dog a bath, and building card houses at home are all examples of Flat Stanley’s fun summer adventures! Scholars were expected to take pictures, journal about what happened, and collect souvenirs. Some children needed a second journal to write about all their travels. Other kids collected soil and sticks to document their time with nature, receipts and napkins from local places, and required IDs for special travel! The gallery walk where everyone shared their work proved to be an eye-opening event as scholars learned more about their classmates’ hobbies. Pictured are Ansleigh Butler, Caitlyn Umpleby, Declan Ekkel, and Sean Mournighan from Laura Gerlach’s fourth-grade class show off their summer projects with pride. It appears as if Flat Stanley enjoyed many adventures with this crew.
