AMERICUS, Ga. — Georgia Southwestern State University head softball coach Nicki Levering has announced the hiring of Cara Law as her assistant coach for the 2017-18 season.
Law joins the Georgia Southwestern staff after completing three years as head coach at Saks High School in Alabama.
“I am very excited to be here coaching at Georgia Southwestern and thankful for the opportunity to be a part of coach Levering’s staff,” Law said.
As a player, Law has four years of collegiate pitching experience at Wallace Hanceville (Ala.), Darton College (Ga.) and Lindsey Wilson College (Ky.), where she finished with a combined career ERA of 1.38.
Law played for Wallace’s NJCAA World Series runner-up team as a freshman and was named second team All-America as a sophomore at Darton. During her final two years at Lindsey Wilson College Law won back-to-back MSC conference championships and was named conference Pitcher of the Year as a junior. She was also voted MSC All-Conference, NAIA All-America and a two-time Academic All-American.
Law finished her college career with a record of 58-13 while accumulating 424 strikeouts in 472.3 innings.
“I’m thrilled to add Cara Law to the coaching staff,” Levering said. “Cara brings a great amount of pitching knowledge to the GSW softball program and I look forward to working with her.”
Law graduated from Lindsey Wilson in 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in communications.
