Update from Sumter County EMA

The Times-Recorder has just received word from the Sumter County EMA that they believe that the worst of the storm has passed, but local residents can still expect heavy rains and steady winds up to 31 mph, with gusts reaching u to 53 mph.

Residents are advised to continue to use caution and to remain safely in their homes, if possible.

4,448 or more local residents are currently without power.
