Friends of the Rylander announce 2017—2018 Presenter Series

AMERICUS — The 2017-2018 Friends of the Rylander Theatre’s Presenter Series kicks off on Oct. 27 with a Mini Moller Monster Movie: Nosferatu.” This event features the 1922 silent classic horror film “Nosferatu” with live accompaniment on the Rylander’s 1928 Moller Theatre Pipe Organ by renowned Atlanta organist, Ron Carter. Tickets go on sale at 11 a.m. Sept. 26.
Next on the roster is a presentation of the beloved holiday classic “The Nutcracker” from Dance Alive National Ballet on Friday, Nov. 17. This professional dance company features an international cast of award winning dancers in every role. Breathtakingly beautiful choreography, music, and costumes makes this truly an all-time family holiday favorite.
After a mid-season break, the performances resume on Friday, Jan. 19, 2018. The Drifters in Concert take the stage. One of Rock & Roll’s founding vocal groups is once again touring the U.S. under the auspices of their original management team. Best known for hits “Under the Boardwalk,” “Stand by Me,” “Up on the Roof,” and “There Goes My Baby” the Drifters in Concert will be the perfect event to chase away those post-holiday blues.
The season finale will feature Georgia native Katie Deal and Off-Broadway award winner, Jason Petty in the “Classic Nashville Roadshow” on Friday, May 18. This Opry-style concert is a journey down memory lane of favorite classic hits honoring beloved country greats and features a live Nashville band. Get swept back in time with songs made famous by Dolly Parton, Hank Williams, Patsy Cline, Merle Haggard, and so many more.
An “Early Bird” discount is available on memberships until Friday, Sept. 15. Complimentary tickets for each show in the season are available through the varying levels of membership in the Friends.
