AMERICUS — Ms. Jewell Davis Reeves, 94, passed away Sept. 15, 2017, at Magnolia Manor in Americus, Ga. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Sept. 16, 2017, at Aldridge Funeral Services in Americus, Ga., and other times at the residence of Marilyn and Phil Guest, 343 Joe Buchanan Road, Plains, Ga. Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 17, 2017, at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Americus, Ga. The Rev. Dr. Dennis Stalvey will officiate. The grandsons will serve as active pallbearers: Bill Reeves Jr., Tony Weeks, Matt Reeves, Mike Reeves. Lee Guest and Burt Guest. Honorary pallbearers will be Mac Clements, Gene Reeves, Gary Reeves, Jerry Reeves, Charles Reeves, Dan Reeves and Roy Don “Butch” Reeves.

Ms. Reeves was born June 17, 1923, in Americus, Ga., daughter of the late Clarence Wheeler Davis and the late Gussie Bridges Davis. She was retired from Manhattan Shirt Co. Ms. Reeves was a member of First Methodist Church in Americus.

She leaves behind a daughter, Marilyn R. Guest (Phil), Plains, Ga.; three sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. William N. “Bill” Reeves (Mary Claire) of  Americus, Robert H. “Bob” Reeves (Carolyn), Americus and David M. Reeves (Judy) of Plains; a sister-in-law, Jane Hendricks of  Jacksonville, Fla., and a step sister, Joan Anderson of Americus. Nine grandchildren, Bill Reeves Jr., Natalie Russo, Melody Whigam, Matt Reeves, Katie Reeves, Angie Weeks, Mike Reeves, Lee Guest and Burt Guest; and 18 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband William Houston Reeves, a sister and a brother-in-law, Mildred and James H. (Jake) Reeves.
