AMERICUS — Retired Presiding Elder Elijah Smith Sr., age 77, ended his earthly life on Monday, Oct. 2, 2017, at his home surrounded by his loved ones. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Janet Broner Smith, his children, grandchildren, and other relatives and friends.

Public viewing services/Wake will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 6, 2017, at Allen Chapel A.M.E. Church/the Rev. Jermaine Harris, Pastor, 132 Bumphead Road, Americus, Ga. He will lie in repose until 8 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 7, 2017, at St. Peter A.M.E. Church, 502 State University Drive, Fort Valley GA 31030. Interment following at the Willowlake Memorial Garden, Fort Valley, Ga.
