MARSHALLVILLE — Mrs. Mary Anne Smith, age 90, of Montezuma, Georgia, passed away Friday, Oct. 13, 2017, at the Oaks Nursing Home in Marshallville, Georgia.
A graveside memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2017, at Oglethorpe Memorial Gardens in Oglethorpe, Georgia. with the Rev. Mike Scarborough officiating.
Mrs. Smith was born Dec. 18, 1926, in Sasser, Georgia. to the late Joe Brown and Clyde Ross Brown. She was a devoted and loving mother and housewife. In the early part of her career, she taught first grade and later worked as a social worker with DFACS until her retirement.
Survivors include two daughters, Patricia and Jim Trask, and D.C. and Bill Williams; one son, Dr. James A. and Dixie Smith; two granddaughters; Whitney and John Crisp and Tracy and David Monk; two grandsons; Bill and Kelly Williams and Dan and Lynsey Williams. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren; Maddie Crisp, John Henry Crisp, Charlie Crisp, Mary Catherine Crisp, Ridley Monk, Hunter Monk, Dan Williams, James Williams, Leah Williams and Chandler Williams, along with many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, James A. Smith and three siblings; Merrell Brown, Elliott Brown and Jean Athon.
