ALBANY — Ms. Dorothy Toler Hodges, age 95, of Americus, died Monday, Oct. 16, 2017, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, Ga. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2017, at Calvary Episcopal Church. Father Jeff Wallace will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until service time Wednesday, in the fellowship hall at Calvary Episcopal Church.

Ms. Hodges was born Sept. 10, 1922, in Sumter County, granddaughter of the late Lennie Inez Hargrove and the late Stonewall Jackson Hargrove. She was the daughter of the late Douglas Marion Toler and the late Marion Inez Hargrove Toler. Ms. Hodges graduated from the High Museum School of Art in Atlanta, Ga., and the Washington School of Music in St. Louis, Mo. She was a talented former student of the late artist, Ms. Kate. She was the former owner of Valley Brook Gift Shop in Anniston, Ala. She was of the Episcopal faith.

Survivors include her daughters: Laura Lynn Phillips (James) of Roswell, Ga., and Beth Richardson of Orangeburg, S.C.; a sister Mrs. Betty Toler Hall (Maxwell) of Marietta, Ga.; two grandchildren David Bartow Phillips and Michael Joseph Phillips both of Roswell, Ga.
