AMERICUS — Mr. Fernando “Fred” Arnoldo Hernandez, 81, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 15, 2017, at his home in Americus, Ga. The funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct, 19, 2017, at St. Mary Catholic Church on Thursday, Oct. 19, 2017, with the interment to follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Americus, Ga. Father Fran Gillespie will officiate.

Mr. Hernandez was born on Sept. 12, 1936, in Camaguey, Cuba, to the late Fernando Hernandez and the late Amparo Gonzales Hernandez. He was the founder, owner/operator of Hernandez Fabricating Products. He was of the Catholic faith and attended the St. Mary Catholic Church.

Survivors include: his wife, Mary Helen Dill Hernandez of Americus, Ga.; one daughter, Dr. Mary Catherine Thorstad (Dr. Brett) of Nashville, Tenn.; three sons, Robert Arnold Hernandez of Americus, Ga., Michael Alan Hernandez (Lisa) of Americus, Ga., Richard James Hernandez (Dana) of Americus, Ga.; and nine grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.
