ELLAVILLE, Ga. — Mrs. Eula Hegwood Clemmons, 87, of Ellaville, passed away early Saturday morning, Oct. 14, 2017, at Perfect Care in Americus, Ga. A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 28, 2017, at Ellaville Baptist Church with the Rev. Joel Smith officiating.

Mrs. Clemmons was born on June 11, 1930, to Arthur S. Hegwood and Florence Waters Hegwood in Walton County, Ga. She was retired from Manhattan Shirt factory, was activities director at Ideal Nursing Home, was a private sitter and had worked at Walmart. Mrs. Eula, as she was affectionately known, was a member of Ellaville Baptist Church where she was a member of the Lydia Sunday School class, the choir and the JOY Club. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, where she is remembered as chief cook for dinners and special events for many years.

Survivors include one daughter Nancy Kennedy O’Quinn and husband Charles Frank of Adel, Ga.; three grandsons, Robert O’Quinn and wife Karen, Spencer O’Quinn and wife Jennifer, and Alan O’Quinn and wife Shonna; seven great grandchildren, Kathryn, Evan, Aubrey, Brook, Claire, Rachel, and Will; and several nieces and nephews. She considered the residents and caregivers at Perfect Care as part of her family also. Mrs. Eula was preceded in death by her husbands, Mr. L.C. Kennedy Jr., Mr. C. C. McNeal Jr. and Mr. Redden William “Bill” Clemmons, and nine siblings. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ellaville Baptist Church Building Fund, P. O. Box 325, Ellaville GA  31806.
