The power was out at the Sumter County Courthouse for about 70 minutes Tuesday afternoon. Bill Twomey, county administrator, said the member of the maintenance department was doing some work in the basement when something shorted out.

The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office closed the courthouse until power was restored, around 3:30 p.m.
