AMERICUS — Ayden Mercer Battle, a 6-year-old first-grader, recently made a donation of $600 to the Phoebe Sumter Medical Center Oncology Clinic. The funds will be given to local breast cancer patients and their families.
Ayden has operated his own lemonade stand, called Ayden J’s Juice, for the past 16 months.
Upon hearing that October was breast cancer awareness month, he decided to donate all of the proceeds to local breast cancer patients.
For his efforts, Ayden received a proclamation from Americus Mayor Barry Blount and from Shavonda Hill, Deputy District director, on behalf of Congressman Sanford Bishop.
